PROGRAMMES

The programmes of the Young Leaders Platform are tailored groom, nurture, support and sustain our Young Leaders to grow their leadership qualities and skills as they prepare for future leadership. Our programmes are grouped under the following headings:

We are willing to partner with senior leaders and private / public organizations to sponsor any of these programmes for young leaders in general or for their designated target young people in any location or country.

  • WORKSHOPS AND SEMINAR TRANINING PROGRAMMES

 1:1) Induction Training for New Young Leaders:

We conduct induction training programme for newly elected young leaders with the support of the institution inducting the young leaders. We also develop Performance Templates for each leadership roles, such as Head Boy, Head Girl, House Captain, Youth Pastor, Street Leader, Class Captain, Course Leader and other leadership positions.

1:2) Performance Review and Support Training for Young Leaders:

Using the Performance Templates introduced during the induction training, the performance of affected young leaders are reviewed and appraised after about six months of occupying any leadership role. Commendation and recommendations are made to support the young leaders for the remainder period of their tenure in such leadership roles.

 

1:3) ABC of Leadership Qualities and Skills Seminars for Young Leaders:

Through this seminar we teach Young Leaders the ABC of Leadership qualities and skills, the habits and leaders, the mindset of leaders, the rewards and pains of leaders.

1:4) Seminars and Workshops for Partners:

These are designed to support the partners who are working with the Young Leaders, to equip them to support the young leaders. Such partners the Vice Chancellors and Lecturers, secondary schools Principals, Vice Principals, Teaching and Non Teaching staff, Officials of organizations working with young leaders, faith based organizations and the parents of young leaders.

1:5) Young Leaders Annual Conference:

Our Annual Conference provides the opportunity for Young Leaders from different organisations, locations and countries to come together to learn and share knowledge.

  • YOUNG LEADERS PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES

2:1) YLP Books and Biography Reading Programme:

Members of Young Leaders Platform are provided with list and materials of recommended books and biographies to read to enhance the knowledge. (Click on resources for details)

2:2) YLP ‘Project 4 Initiative’:

The programme is designed to encourage and support Young Leaders to pick and learn a business skill, a sport, musical equipment playing skill and another language different from the mother tongue.

2:3) YLP Competitions & Assignments:

To help our Young Leaders to develop the spirit of sportsmanship, various competitions are organized in partnership with organizations. Such competitions includes: Writing Competitions; Art Competitions; Music Competitions; Invention Competitions; Speaking Competitions; Team Work Competitions; Critical Thinking Competitions; Problem Solving Competitions; Community Service Competitions. (We welcome sponsorships from Senior Citizens, Families, Companies and Government Agencies)

2:4) YLP Life Planning Programme:

We believe that the best way to predict the future is to create it and that why the Life Planning Programme is put in place to help the Young People to design and plan their life.   • YOUNG LEADERS ENTREPRENURSHIP AND EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMMES

3:1) YLP Leadership QS (Qualities & Skills) Reinforcement Programme:

The Leadership Qualities and Skills Reinforcement Programme provides opportunities for Young Leaders to continue to exhibit and exercise leadership qualities and skills even after the exit a leadership role they occupied in the past.

 

3:2) YLP Entrepreneurship and Mentorship Programme:

We teach the Young Leaders to become entrepreneurs and provide them with mentorship. Older and senior leaders can also donate their time to teach, facilitate and mentor these young leaders through their companies’ internship programmes.

3:3) YLP Financial Education and Empowerment Programme:

To ensure that all our Young Leaders acquire financially intelligence and prudence,

It is mandatory for all the members of Young Leaders Platform to maintain a savings account with any bank of their choice, make monthly savings, and members are supported to engage in income yielding activities. (Click on resources for details)

 3:4) Young Leaders Mentorship Hang Out:

The Young Leaders Hang Out programmes provide atmosphere and opportunities for older and senior leaders to share their leadership stories, experiences, challenges, mistakes, victories and lessons with the young leaders to enhance their experience and prepare them for the future.

  • YOUNG LEADERS INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMES

4:1) YLP Scholarship Support Programme:

We provide information about scholarships and sponsorships from around the world to support the young leaders especially those that might need such scholarship financial support. (Click on resources for details)

4:2) YLP International Exchange Programme:

We partner and collaborate with other international organisations on exchange visits and joint venture projects and programmes to expose and enhance the leadership qualities of our young people.

  • YOUNG LEADERS GIVING BACK TO THE SOCIETY PROGRAMMES

 5:1) YLP Charity and Community Volunteer Service Programme:

The Charity / Community Volunteer Programme provide the platform for Young Leaders to develop passion for the less privileged members of the society as well as to become effective leaders in their communities. Members select the charity causes to support.
